Southern California supporters to join the local Global Genes Dash in Aliso Viejo March 23
Global Genes™ is gearing up for the 2nd annual virtual DENIM Dash 5K for Rare Disease March 19 – 27. The virtual DEMIN Dash offers participants the flexibility to run, roll, jog, walk, skip, and swim anywhere at any time in support of patients, family and friends of the rare disease community. Supporters in Southern California are encouraged to participate in the Global Genes 5k at the non-profit organization’s headquarters in Aliso Viejo on Wednesday, March 23 at 4 p.m.
Global Genes is proud to welcome Ambry Genetics as this year’s Denim Dash 5k presenting sponsor. CorePower Yoga, Active, and Nutrishop will be supporting partners of the event. CorePower Yoga will offer complimentary pre-dash stretching to warm-up the participants joining the local Global Genes Dash in Aliso Viejo on March 23. The local Southern California 5k event is a 3-mile course beginning and ending at Global Genes headquarters with a post-race finish line party including refreshments and food trucks.
All DENIM Dash participants are encouraged to share race plans and progress with other event participants on social media platforms and active lifestyle applications. By using the hashtag #Dasher2016, rare disease advocates will be able to stay in touch with DENIM Dash participants across the globe. Celebrities who will be dashing for RARE and sharing their race progress include Travis Flores (philanthropist, author and actor), Shaka Smith (fitness model), Aleem (break-out recording artist), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Madison Mclaughlin (Supernatural), Max Charles (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, American Sniper), Pam Tillis (Singer), Rusty Joiner (Amateur Night, Behaving Badly), Melissa Rivers (Fashion Police), Tammy Pescatelli (comedian), Ali Landry (Miss USA 1996, actress), Brian Edwards (best selling author), and many more.

In its first year the DENIM Dash 5k raised over $60,000 from participants across 7 countries and 46 states. DENIM Dash 2016 net proceeds will go directly into the Rare Disease Community through Global Genes’ RARE Patient Impact Grant.
