The 2014 Golden Foodie Awards return to the Fairmont Newport Beach on Sunday, September 28 to honor the best chefs, bartenders, and restaurateurs in Orange County. Winners will be determined in over 25 categories while attendees enjoy luscious cuisine and libations from the region’s most innovative culinary minds. The sold out event will toast the dedication of food-minded individuals and award Golden Foodie recipients with an array of prizes.
“Chefs and restaurateurs often work countless hours, seven days a week, and this event is meant to recognize and celebrate them,” says Pamela Waitt, creator and producer of the Golden Foodie Awards and President of the OC Restaurant Association Inc. “I am thrilled they are receiving such fantastic gifts and able to enjoy great food and drinks throughout the evening.”
One winner will emerge from each 26 categories to take home a Golden Foodie Award Statue and much more. The recipients of the Golden Chef, Golden Pastry Chef, and Best New Restaurant awards determine the evening’s top winners and will receive Kohler sinks and faucets, a special NO. 209 gift box, Roca Patron, a bread knife courtesy of Sadie Rose Bread, a $500 gift card to Surfas Culinary District, and a Kosta Browne Magnum of Golden Foodie edition 2012 Pinot Noir.
All award winners at the upscale event will take home Kohler showerheads, a selection of exotic and seasonal fruit including a certificate for an ounce of fresh white Italian truffles courtesy of Melissa’s and Kean Coffee tumblers. Winners will also receive a hosted meal at the Honda Center prior to an Anaheim Ducks game, libations courtesy of Kettle One, Merryvale Vineyards, and Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, along with an additional prize to be announced at the ceremony.
Now in its third year at the Fairmont Newport Beach, The Golden Foodie Awards continue to champion the local culinary community in style. “This prestigious event celebrates the innovation and vitality of the culinary arts in Southern California,” says Karl Kruger, General Manager. “Executive Chef Brian Doherty and his team at The Fairmont Newport Beach see this as an incredible privilege and promise to orchestrate an event that will both inspire and delight fellow foodies.”
