Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina will transform the Back Bay into a glowing waterfront holiday destination with the return of its 36th annual Lighting of the Bay plus the Fire & Lights Festival, beginning Friday, November 27, 2026, and continuing through January 3, 2027.

A beloved Newport Beach holiday tradition for more than three decades, Lighting of the Bay will illuminate the waterfront nightly at dusk with more than 50 floating holiday light displays reflecting across the calm waters of the Back Bay. Families come annually to watch the bay come alive.  Thursdays through Sundays, the Fire & Lights Festival adds even more holiday magic with dazzling fire performances, visits with Santa, festive inflatables, waterfront fire pits, seasonal treats, and more.

“Lighting of the Bay is a holiday tradition that brings our community together year after year,” said Phil Ravenna, general manager of Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina. “The Fire & Lights Festival gives families even more to enjoy, from fire performances and visits with Santa to gathering around the waterfront fire pits beneath the lights. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to make new holiday memories along the bay.”
