(Santa Ana, Calif.) – OC Fashion Association is pleased to announce the complete program for the inaugural OC Fashion Week May 18 through 22 in the Artist Village of Downtown Santa Ana.
An educational lecture series kicks off fashion week on Wednesday, May 18 with guest speakers Bobbi Lee of Beach Bunny speaking on fashion production and Bonnie Kim of Freedom & Fashion on fair trade production. Thursday, May 19 lectures welcome Attorney Amanda Mooney of Irvine law firm Burkhalter Kessler Goodman & George LLP presenting “Foundations of Trademark and Brand Protection”. Shelley M. Liberto Law Offices of Huntington Beach will present “Starting Your Own Business and Registering Copyrights Online”. Friday, May 20 OC Fashion Association presents the student design competition fashion show “The OC Fashion House” with students from Art Institute OC, Santa Ana College, Long Beach City College, Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Fullerton competing their wears on the runway at the historic Yost Theater. Saturday, May 21 the lecture series continues with “Style Pro” tips from Erin Bianchi, Director of Special Events at Bloomingdales and Caroline Letieri, Trend Reporter. The Fall/Winter Collections Show “OC Born” follows on Saturday evening under the stars on the 2nd Street Promenade with local design houses Adolfo Sanchez (women), Dual Society (men), I.CTZN (men/women), and Matte Black (men/women) taking the runway. On Sunday, May 22, an informal children’s show “Raised in OC” will be presented at the Santora Building with Kangacoo Designs, Auntie Kerrie and Fore !! Axel and Hudson. To wrap up the week of fashion a special champagne mix and mingle will follow the children’s show with a second informal show “In Sustainable Fashion” featuring 31 Bits (accessories), Simply Vintage (accessories), Upper Class Label (women), Love Clothing (women), and Lola Paige (women) closing the event.
